Yes this! More this!
Welcome to the original Mirror Universe. Directed by none other than Commander Riker himself, Jonathan Frakes. Easily the best episode of the season and a great way to kick off the new year. I fell behind on The Orville when Star Trek Discovery won over my attention. Then a bunch of new movies hit like this under-the-radar flick called Star Wars? Maybe you heard of it? Anyway... I suddenly felt in the mood for some sassy Seth MacFarlane and decided to catch up and see what I missed...
Could this be the next Breaking Bad? Only if you like sociopathic serial killers as much as rogue chemistry teachers with cancer. I guess I must.
Maybe this show ain't half bad, afterall. This week, the Discovery gets stuck in a time loop with Dwight from The Office and no amount of groundhogs will get 'em outa this one. Set phasers to vaporize!
The Orville hits its groove, this week.
If Episode 2 felt like it borrowed from from familiar Star Trek formulas, then this week felt like a premise Star Trek wished they'd thought of. I mean, we're not talking Star Trek Voyager anymore, this could've been an episode of The Next Generation, and a good one, too. |
